However, for anyone interested, here is an article from the New York Times that describes the filming of The Canyons with our favorite train-wreck that is likely more interesting than the film itself.
I remember reading that article a few months ago. That's why I really wanted to watch the movie, just to see how big of a train wreck it would be.

It kind of has its high points but they are very few and far between. James Deen's performance is hilarious in how he's this evil, robotic boyfriend who likes to have power over people. Lindsay phones it in and the rest of the actors are overplaying in a really bad way. Again, it doesn't have the charm of Troll 2 or Sharktopus, but if you have some time to kill and want to punish yourself, knock yourself out

Just saw Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, great movie, if Cate Blanchett doesn't win an Oscar for this it will be a travesty. She is incredible, and the rest of the cast is pretty damn strong too.

There is no dollar amount in the world that I could be paid to ever watch another Woody Allen movie. And yet people LOVE LOVE LOVE his movies. Such a polarizing actor...haha.

Watched Epic with my kids. They loved it and I enjoyed it. Sort of a better Fern Gully, for those who remember that film.

Also watched Elysium on Sunday afternoon. It was alright, but nothing too spectacular. Way too predictable for one, and too many plot/world holes that drove me a little crazy.

As a heads up - pain & gain was a freakin' terrible movie. . . But I couldn't stomp watching it. What an odd show.

So myself and a bunch of guys, including Dobberhockey Hall of Famer Peter Belanger, made a movie for the 48 Hour Film project. Rather than explain all the details, go read here:

    http://www.48hourfilm.com/en/detroit/

We are given 48 hours to make a film with a specific Character, Prop, Line of Dialog and a random genre.

Check out our movie. We won Best Picture, Best Editing, Audience Choice and Best Horror Film.

    Character: Kevin Boothbay
    Prop: Map
Dialog: "Please be careful. That's the last one."

    Enjoy.
That was pretty good man, didn't expect that twist!

2 Guns wasn't all that great...Denzel & Walhberg have some good chemistry but the movie itself leaves a lot to be desired...I'd give it 6 out of 10.

A great cast and some hilarious scenes, just the right blend of comedy and pathos, Cate Blanchett steals the show but Sally Hawkins is awesome, and Bobby Cannavale is fantastic (he played Richard Romo on Broadway's Glengarry Glen Ross last year and was tremendous, great actor).

But Cate Blanchett, man she is something else. And it has nothing to do with my love for her portrayal of Lady Galadriel!

Despicable Me 2 - 8 out of 10. Really good kids movie.

The Wolverine - 7 of 10. Liked the film as a whole. Long winded for a 2 hour movie.

2 Guns - 9.5 of 10. This movie was perfect. Lots of good action and hilarious. Way funnier than I expected. Didn't know this was a comic book movie going in.

Saw it tonight - Blanchett was insane great. The movie overall was very good, although the ending was... well... hmm... lol. A definite must-see. How great was Diceman though?? haha

I don't know the last five....but I know the last one....Pain and Gain.

I know the story must have been exaggerated....because there is no way three guys could be as stupid as those idiots.

I saw Hot Fuzz yesterday. Made by the same guys that made Shaun of the Dead and the new movie The World's End. Loved it! 4.5/5
