Default { Signing } Jonathan Broxton

Cincinnati has agreed to sign Broxton to a multi-year deal.

    Jon Heyman: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jo...rn-to-the-reds

Heyman says Broxton is expected to be their closer and this will allow the Reds to move Aroldis Chapman to the rotation.

    Interesting...

I read that somewhere last night that this was their plan if they could get him signed. It will be interesting to see Chapman in the rotation. The kid can chuck the ball. Not sure how he will fare doing it over 7 or so innings but it will be fun watching.

This is basically what Texas did with Neftali Feliz.

He had an amazing season as the closer and then the moved him to the rotation. Chapman throws harder than Feliz, but its going to be an adjustment process for him. Feliz blew out his arm this year (torn ulnar collateral ligament), hopefully the same doesn't happen to Chapman.

    Its risky business.

I think it's a horrible idea moving Chapman to the rotation but meh, not my team.

I predicted here that Chapman would be a starter this season during his hot run at the mid-way point last year. Someone rep me for that!!
