    Default Jonathan Drouin

Jonathan Drouin is tearing up the QMJHL with 40 points in 19 games. I'm not sure if he will make the WJC team but his play with Mackinnon and Huberdeau in the Subway Super Series may indicate otherwise (4 points in 1 game).

Below is a link showing off his "majic hands", enjoy!

Haha. Beat the D, fooled the goalie, then out dangled himself! Pretty slick moves though

Definitely a quick riser in the official rankings, but most people knew he was gonna be a riser this season. He was drafted #2 in the 2011 QMJHL draft, and only at 2 because MacKinnon was taken #1. Drouin dominated the Q playoffs last season....this rise was inevitable.

And for fantasy leagues specifically, he's going to be great. Tons of skill, probably the smartest player in the draft. On pure points he may just have the highest ceiling of anybody in the 2013 class.

Not sure how many threads I have seen about MacKinnon/Drouin, but as I have said numerous times before, this kid is going to be a better scorer in the NHL then MacKinnon. Living 30 mins outside of Halifax I have gone to a few Moose games and seen them live.

Deadly hands on this kid, deadly.

I'd still take MacKinnon 1st. Better goal scorer and his talent is easily translated to the pros. I like Drouin as well but he will be more of an assist guy. Different styles really. Cant go wrong with either I suppose. I think Mac would project to a 40/40 type, and Drouin a 30/50 type.

I'd still take Barkov over Drouin at this point in the season.

EDIT: But, in my opinion, he has now surpassed Lindholm.

I have seen Drouin alot since he joined the Moose last year and he always impressed me, very skilled and it isnt really a surprise he has "risen" this far to me. He has the skill but looks very small..however I have him ranked 6th in my rankings after, after Barkov, Jones, MacKinnon, Monahan, Shinkaruk

Anyone think Drouin can make it as a regular NHLer next season? Obviously it depends quite a bit which team drafts him, I just don't see him having much to prove playing another year in the Q.

If he is the 1st overall pick, then yes he will be in the NHL next season.. Because the team that drafts him will be feeling the pressure to show off their newest star..

For sure, otherwise he could get the Huberdeau treatment.

Any other thoughts on Drouin, looking like he will be a Panther or Lightning? Also leading the Q in playoff points (30 in 13). I'm thinking he sticks with either club next season.

You never know with the Panthers. Their previous two lottery picks made the team only to get sent back to junior anyhow. I'd expect to see Drouin next year but I'm not counting on it for certain.
