    Default Team Audit

It's kind of slow here lately, so I figured I'd generate some chat.

This is a league that I am in with dmvincent.

It's the same team in my sig, but for the sake of easy quoting and replies, it is a 16 Team H2H Dynasty League. The categories are G, A, P, PPP, SHP, +/-, PIM, SOG, W, L, GAA, SvPct, SHO

I've pretty much traded all of my picks out as far as 2014 (2015 aren't eligible for trade yet).

I know Biron and Neil are a bit weak, but I need someone to drop when I recall Yakupov.

    C: Backstrom, Getzlaf, Pavelski
    LW: Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Brown
    RW: Skinner, Voracek, Semin
D: Byfuglien, J.Johnson, Goligoski, Hedman, Hamonic
    U: Horton
    G: Schneider, Hiller
B: E. Johnson, Mueller S.Kostitsyn, Neil, Biron, Giguere
    IR:
    Prospect: Nail Yakupov

I welcome any and all input or criticism!

Yes he is. But I think I could acquire him if need be.

Yeah, not sure, just think handcuffing your starters is probably not such a bad idea in this league.

What do you think it would take to own him?

Just took a double check, and he's owned by a knowledgable manager in our league. I'm thinking I would have to overpay as the manager would see I'm going for the handcuff. But I will inquire all the same.

Not much to criticize about this team personally. It's a 16-team league so teams shouldn't really be that stacked but your starting roster has some good upside. You have a lot of high shot total players like Kovalchuk, Brown, Semin, Pavelski, Byfuglien...your guys get some decent PIM..almost all of your guys are gonna get some great PP minutes, even Mueller coming off your bench as I believe the Panthers are planning for him to play on the point on the powerplay.

Cs are stacked, LWs are stacked. RWs are less so but for a 16 team league, still pretty solid. I'd say the only area of weakness would be a third goalie but for a 16 team league, again having two solid tenders like Schneider and Hiller (especially with his off night starts) are solid.

I guess the only thing I could say is that considering you traded your picks away, you're probably gonna want to address your future at some point. But for now go for the win and enjoy the championship.

    Thanks!

I agree my future will need to be addressed. The nice thing is I have lots of young guys, so I hopefully won't have to do a complete dismantle. If I fall out of the race I can always move an older guy or two to address future concerns.

Yeah, I don't think any of the major pieces on your team are over the age of 30. I just figured since you're calling up Yakupov to your farm team, you may need to find someone to replace him with in your prospect slot.

It seems like you managed to buy low on a handful of guys at some point or another, unless you drafted them and never lost hope on them (i.e. Ovechkin, Getzlaf, Skinner, Goligoski, Hiller, etc.)

Nope. I took over the team in Jan '12 and have done an absolute boat load of trading.

Here is roughly what the team started with...

    C Daniel Sedin,
    C Brad Richards,
    C Ryan Kesler
    C Nik Antropov
    C Mike Fisher
    C Shawn Matthias
    C Deharnais

    LW Steve Sullivan, Pit
    LW Shane Doan, PHO
    LW Lauri Korpikoski, Pho
    LW Pascal Dupuis, Pit

    RW Chris Neil, Ott
    RW Troy Brouwer, Was
    RW Andre Kostitsyn, Mtl
    RW Michael Grabner

    D Drew Doughty, LA
    D Matt Carle, Phi
    D Jonathan Ericsson, Det
    D Andrew Ference, Bos
    D Carl Gunnarsson, Tor

    G Mike Smith
    G Mikka Kipprusoff

    Prospects:

    Scott Glennie, C-DAL (0 GP)
    Grant Clitsome, D-CLB (83 GP)
    Braden Holtby, G-WAS (14 GP)

I have no idea how many trades I've made, but it's been quite a few.

Wow. You flipped an entire roster in less than 12 months. And ended up with a MUCH better team from the looks of it.

    Nicely done.
