So if Chelios and Niedermeyer are shoe-ins for two of the four spots next year.
What two players make it out of this group?
Tom Barrasso, Guy Carbonneau, Theoren Fleury, Phil Housley, Rob Blake, Eric Lindros, Sergei Makarov, or Brendan Shanahan?
Niedermayer
Chelios
Blake
Lindros
Shannny could go in place of Lindros depending on how the voting goes.

I say no chance Lindros is first ballot. Blake and Shanahan. Honestly not old enough to know how much Carbonneau deserves it, and Fleury is gonna be a Bure situation because of his drug problems (meaning its gonna take 3-6 years before he gets in), I think next closest past Blake and Shanny is probably Housley.
I think Shanny and Blake will go in next year. Im not too educated on how much Makarov meant so that's why he's off my list.
I do think that Lindros should already be in the HoF, but if it hasn't happened yet I don't see it next year.
Hopefully they don't go through another year of embarrassment by not inducting Pat Burns...
It's quite possible it may only be three Nhlers (I say Chelios, Niedemeyer and Shanahan) but it could also be another female player as well. Not sure who the next worthy candidate is but that has to be in consideration as well
Also not sure how Andreychuk never gets consideration because he definitely has the numbers to do it ... If Mike Gartner got in, I'm sure there is a spot for him too

I think that Blake, Chelios, Fleury, Kariya, Leclair, Lindros, Mogilny, Naslund, Niedermayer, Roenick, Shanahan, and Tkachuk were all bonafide consistent stars for long periods of time and should all be in there. So that's 12 players already and the max is 4. I'd also have no problem if some of the other guys on that list like Vernon (he won a lot but I'd never say he was elite) or Jospeh or Makarov (goes in for international but not NHL stuff) or Andrechyuk or Housley or Brind'Amour go in. I can see the argument for Andrechyuk and I wouldn't mind if he got in but the problem I have is that he was never that famous or considered a real star, he just had longetivity.
Now here's the issue, many of the great names on that list will never get in. In 2014, Forsberg is a lock and Recchi/Modano probably too with maybe Doug Weight or Raflaski as the 4th guy to retire from that 2010-11 yr. I'd actually say that Adam Foote deserves more consideration since he was more famous than Rafalski and was also the best defensive dman in the 90s to mid 00s outside of Scott Stevens perhaps.
So my point is that the hall of fame needs to increase the maximum from 4 to 5 or 6 to accomodate the increasing number of stars in the game especially all those great players of the 90s.
Makarov and Shanny. Lindros will get in, but probably not next year.
Probably gonna get beat up for this, but Shanny was a product of a system more so than ay raw talent. He should erect a 'Left Wing Lock' monument.
@SmittysRant
Niedermayer, Chelios, Blake, Shanahan
Neidermayer, Chelios, Housley, Makarov.
Shanny is an NHL HHOFer... but I think he should wait a year... I'd prefer these four guys over Shanahan.
Forgot to include Andreychuk in the list when I posted this. Also Roenick is apparently eligible as well either this year or next year.
In terms of female players, I believe they have created a separate induction category for women and up to two can be inducted each year.
