    1. Arachnophobia. I used to play with spiders as a kid, now I freak out at the sight of them.. all thanks to one stupid movie I watched as a 10 year old.

    2. Paranormal Activity. Nothing as scary as shit going haywire in your own house.

    3. Twilight. The fact that this horrid movie made that much money that they split the last part into two movies and got that lack of acting ability girl starring roles in other movies.... ughhh scary what is wrong with the world.

For me, scary movie lists begin with the grand daddy of all scary films.

    1. The Excorcist

    2. Alien (I saw it when I was young, and it terrified me).
    3. Haloween (ironic. I loved this movie when I was young. The original indestructible killer, IMHO)

Honourable mention to Event Horizon, which REALLY scared me, but the ending was SO disappointing. Great movie until the last 10 minutes though. Also, The Blair Witch Project which didn't scare me much, but I loved how original it was and I think it paved the way for that type of genre.

The Thing scared the shit outta me as a kid. I think I only watched about 70% of it the first time. I believe I was about 10 at the time.

It wouldn't be at the top of my list, but I watched Paranormal Activity last night. Slow start, really dumb last 10 seconds.

Oh Jaws...good one. That's one I forgot about. My Mom hid my eyes from certain parts of that movie. Man that's a f-in classic.

See I am watching the Rob Zombie remake (2007) of Halloween and I hafta tell ya he REALLY captures the rage. John Carpenter did an excellent job on the traditional horror. But Zombie's version was disturbing.

Whoa.... I didn't know that Rob Zombie did a remake of Halloween. I'm renting that tonight. And by renting I mean downloading... and by downloading, I mean pirating.

When I was five (not a typo, I was five) my parents took me and my older brother to see Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 version with Donald Sutherland). When I look back now, not the scariest film ever, but being five probably the most terrifying experience of my life. Shortly after they made laws about kids going to movies like this.

    Anyways, top three:

    1. The Changeling - the scene with the ball coming down the stairs still freaks me out
    2. The Exorcist - incredible movie, with incredible cinematography to boot
    3. The Shining

These three absolutely f$%ked with my psyche.

Honourable mention for the Woman In Blalck and the remake of When a Stranger Calls.

AW Ive seen both ( several times) and I have to tell ya Zombie captures the sadistic side that Carpenter disregarded.

Maybe, but I was incredibly disappointed with Zombie's Halloween. Carpenter created something amazing, and on a budget of $320k, that kind of thing is unheard of. He created something terrifying using great storytelling, great camera work and lighting, and by using characters you cared about. I was SO excited to see what Rob Zombie could do with Halloween; The Devil's Rejects was brilliant, and I thought that Halloween was something that he could really sink his teeth into. Sadly, I found it to be a hollow, blood filled special effect movie filled with characters that I could care less for...

1 - The Changeling - have to agree with CcC here; for me it was the banging on the bathtub that really freaked me out, plus the kid looking up from the well...man that was messed up.

2 - The Ring - Just the girl coming out of the damn TV is enough to make the list - that was seriously freaky.

3 - The Exorcist - All time classic, still does the trick almost 40 years later.

Those are the ones that come to mind right now (probably because they were all mentioned already) but i don't think any movie ever creeped me out as much as The Changeling.
