Default [Cage Match Tournament] NEW - Loser [Salo] Island

New to the DobberHockey Cage Match Tournament is the loser bracket. The way it works is that if you get eliminated you are then banished to one of our Loser Islands. This here is the Toskala Island. If you don't understand why Tommy Salo's head has it's own island then you are probably Tommy Salo and still have no clue where you are.

Once banished to an island you can only escape by getting voted off by the readers. Each week a new goaltender will get voted off until each island has but one remaining. These are your losers for the year. Sounds like fun, yes?

Remember to vote based on a one-year league with Wins, GAA, Save% and Shutouts as scoring categories.

Varly is the only established starter on that list (Reimer could be considered a starter I suppose but if the Leafs are trying to acquire Lou, that tells me all I need to know in regards to their confidence in him) so he will be the first one off the island.

Was there some sort of plan in putting all the best goalies in the second position?

You'll note that the goalies on each island are taken directly from the losers in each individual bracket. Since there were really no upsets in the opening round of the tournament the goalie from the 4-5 matchup was always the highest seeded. Now if you go back to the article on the homepage you'll note that sequentially in each bracket the matchups from top to bottom read 1-8, 4-5, 3-6, 2-7. I just took the names of each loser in sequence leaving the goalie from the 4-5 matchup always in the second spot. Whether that goalie is actually the best is up to you. I personally didn't vote that way in three of the four islands but to each their own.

Ha, I didn't catch that! That sure would explain it.
