Default Pros and Cons to Allaire's Absence

If you would like some of my thoughts on Francois Allaire leaving the Leafs, I posted a lengthy piece on it.

    http://www.thegoalieguild.com/2012/0...aires-absence/

I discuss the main pro and con of this move, and why he would be a perfect fit in Colorado. I also look at a few potential replacements.

It's important to keep in mind the actual "con" of this move. When young raw-skilled prospects are taught to play a certain way for a few years, to shift back to a totally different methodology can end up being a negative.

Who the Leafs hire as a replacement is a massive decision considering they have absolutely zero veteran experienced guys in the system. It might make most sense to promote Filiautrault for now.

Here are some more of my thoughts on the transition that will take place with new goalie coach Rick St. Croix. Couple of questions posed from Maple Leafs HotStove:

In my article I said how Allaire is like the Brodeur of goalie coaches. After seeing Cox's article and some other stuff, it's even more true.

Both are "stubborn" and both have a wealth of pride. Can't really blame Allaire for not agreeing to those three terms RC laid in front of him.
