    Default iPhone vs Android

I saw an earlier thread but that was almost a year ago. Since these things change monthly....

Im looking into buying either a Samsung Galaxy SIII or iPhone (I know iPhone 5 is out in the fall so I would probably wait).

    Things I use most....

    Texting/Emails
    Twitter
    Facebook
    Score/TSN for scores

I also assume I would browse more....dont do much of that on a Blackberry.

    What should I get?

I have an android. Galaxy Nexus

Love it because I can charge it with my blackberry cord, or my Kindle cord. Everything else I'm sure is quite comparable to what Apple offers, but their greed in making you buy only their products to fit/adapt to their products is flat out wrong. Eat it, Apple!

I'm pretty happy with my iPhone 4...so I can imagine the 5 will be great. I've always been more in favour of Apple products lol.

I really think it depends on what you want.

Do you want the freedom to do whatever you want with your phone like cracking it and changing it's configurations for things like overclocking? Then get an Android.

If you want it to work seamlessly with your apple laptop and other apple products. Get and iPhone 5.

I myself would be happy with either. I'm a mac guy, but I am tired of them confining everything to their own stuff. It's getting old and they keep touting their stuff as the number one thing or the first, when it isn't necessarily true.

I have the same phone, and love it as well.

Also, might I add that the Google version of Siri is much better... at everything!

Apple's crazy prices irk me when you can get equal to or better for much less.

dont forget iphone 5's accessories arent backwards compatible with older apple products. i have the s2 and will be getting the iphone5 for work shortly...but if i had a choice i'd pick the s3 unless the iphone 5 blows me away (which i highly doubt)

The iPhone is GREAT if you buy into the entire Apple ecosystem. That means.. iTunes to control your media, AppleTV, iPad, iPhone, and airplay compatible accessories. They've done a great job simplifying the whole system for the less technically inclined.

If you are more of a tinkerer though, Android will let you play a lot more.

I used to say "stay away from iPhones" for people that used to only want to surf the net, but with Chrome on iOS now that's no longer a major issue. Oh yah, iOS does not do flash, so if you frequent any flash heavy websites, might want to look the other way.

Smoke signals and carrier pigeons... No electronic traces, no signal stealing, just conversation and results...

When it comes to interface both are easy to use and you get used to whatever pretty quickly. Android has more customizability because iOS is a VERY closed off system. On the flip side most of the best apps are designed for iOS first and foremost, but Android is catching up. iTunes is the worst piece of software ever made, so that might just be a turnoff. Bloatware 5000...

For me it comes down to a performance/price issue and then any Apple product is just dead in the water because they literally always overprice their stuff. I have a HTC One X and the non-SAMOLED 720p display is so crisp that everything else looks like shit for me these days. Awesome to watch movies and play games on. Samsung Galaxy S3 isn't far behind for me, but that's mostly a familiarity issue. Performance-wise they are pretty much the same.

My next purchase will probably be the new Google Nexus 7 tablet.

Recently just got my first smartphone, a Nexus 4, and I love it. Especially the cost efficiency of buying it unlocked and then using T-mobile.

BUTT ... I was just on Google play and they are now selling it $100 cheaper!! than what I just bought it for 3-4 weeks ago. Could have saved myself just over $200 since I bought one for the wife and myself.

Sorry, just had to vent a little.
