Wild up 1-0 in first. Vanek shot looks like it deflects off of Klingberg's stick.
The great Patrick Roy is quoted as saying if you can't block it cleanly don't put your stick in the shooting lane please.

Klinger has had a couple of games to forget lately.

    Daryl Reaugh:
By my count 7 of the last 10 goals allowed by the Stars are the direct result of turnovers.
8 out of 10 by my count, or more like 8 out of 9 because the Sens empty netter never would have happened if not for all the generosity by the Stars that night. Heck the Henrik Sedin PP goal last night never should have happened if not for the refs being absolutely determined to get the Canucks level with the Stars. If the Stars would just settle down and play disciplined they would be walking all over these jokers. But for the third straight game the Stars have been their own worst enemy.

Okay a couple of deep breaths here. I don't necessarily think the Stars are being outplayed as much as they are being outsmarted. Ottawa exposed a weakness, pressure the Stars and they will make mistakes. Thing is that's already been addressed earlier this season by the Stars. They know how to take what the opposition is willing to give, bide their time, and then make them pay. The Stars just have to play smart and they can get back into this.

    Ahhhh....wow!

What I said earlier Larry, about Sharp, I may have spoken too soon. After Ruff blew up the lines and they responded like they did all bets are off, for now. Of course if Sharp-Spezza-Nichushkin can play like that it won't matter too much.

No surprise here, Niemi in net tonight. Ruff reset the lines back to what he's been running:

    Benn-Seguin-Sharp
    Janmark-Spezza-Eaves
    Roussel-Eakin-Nichushkin
    Sceviour-Fiddler-Hemsky

I wasn't entirely sure if Ruff would go back to this lineup or if he might decide to open up with the reworked one that put together the comeback against the Wild. He's done it before after an in-game shakeup of the lines catches fire, but, then again this isn't that Stars team anymore. It was a look at what we could expect when at some point later the Stars need that spark. Looks like Jokipakka will be back in tonight and Nemeth goes back to the pressbox with Oleksiak.

Any news on Brett Ritchie? I'm guessing he'll be AHL-bound when healthy, but curious if you've seen anything.
Last I saw, he was skating (no-contact) but that was awhile ago.

This came up in yesterday's chat with Mike Heika, and here was his reply....

He was practicing in Cedar Park before the Texas Stars went on the road and then was practicing in Frisco a little. I think he's close to returning, but he has a lot of work to do and might have to spend most of the season in the AHL with the depth the team now has. We'll see.

20 of 22? I'm lost here. Seguin has 13 goals to this point.

It's time for this team to get taken out back and have their heads thumped. For like the fourth or fifth game in a row too many unforced turnovers, and just like Ottawa it bit hard. Safe to say Ruff is peeling the paint off the locker room walls right about now. There is no excuse for this loss especially the way they dominated the opening period.

Love watching this team, but there's no way they're contending for the cup come playoff time haha. Same old problems.

I'd say both teams played pretty terrible for most of the game.
