    Default Closers

Looking for a list and ranking of set up guys that would inherit the closer role if a trade is made to the current closer. Anyone hear any others? Am I missing someone?

    1) Myers - Lyon
    2) Street - Gregerson
    3) Broxton - Holland

UPDATE: Thought i'd share this link in case anyone cares. Farrell says even if Santos returns, Janssen has earned the right to remain the closer for the year.

Heath Bell is so bad that it's not even funny anymore. Oviedo is my guess to replace him in the near future...

He was pulled from a AAA rehab start, seems minor. Chisek just got the save and think he's the short term solution for the time being and should be grabbed.

Casilla blew another save. Is it smart to be picking up Romo?

Yup, I think Casilla is just about finished. Also, grab Cishek NOW! Oviedo is going to get his elbow examined and Miami has no other good options.

I'm not a huge fan of Cishek, you should look for Oviedo to share save opportunities with him once his suspension is finished.

Romo is very good and a guy I'd recommend picking up even if he isn't the closer.

I think Romo is a great play regardless and will get his spot save here and there. But, at the end of the day SF will continue to go back to Casilla. You don't rattle off 20 saves and then go through a rough patch and go to a committee. They want him to succeed and have gone on record by saying Romo does not fit the role because of the slyders and beating his elbow endures, that is why they don't work him often.
3rd day in a row pitching and got a 2 out save today, so they are sticking with him.

I agree Chisek is not the long term solution, but if you need saves for the next 2-3 weeks, he is the guy. Especially with news that Oviedo is headed back to Miami with elbow discomfort.

Exactly. I think Cishek will be a good solution for the next couple of weeks. That's all I'm looking for anyway with RP.

Chisek was unavailable tonight due to stomach flu, so no worries.

Axford blows another save, allows three runs (all earned) to the Cardinals.

That's his sixth blown save of the year.
