Draft this Sunday 23.00 GMT

I used linear weights as the basis for

the batting, FIP for the pitching, with

a couple of adjusters, and what I could

with the 6 ESPN fielding options.

For last year the top batters would have

scored tops 8000. Using this scoring for

last year Bautista, Pujols, Votto,

Cabrera, Hamilton, Carlos Ganzalez,

Konerko are the top 7. At 1000 points

per WAR matches up quite well with

batting, probably about 7-10% too high.

Starting pitching had Hernandez tops at

7000+ last year, followed by the usual

suspects, Wainwright, Halladay, Josh

Johnson, Jimenez, anout 2-5% low

Top relief pitcher was Marmol at 3000

followed by Wagner, Wilson and Bell,

immediately followed by the top set up

men, Gregerson, Adams, Belisle, Thornton

last year around 2200 ie 2.2 WAR which

is spot on.

Fielding tops out at just over 2200 =

2.2 WAR, which is pretty close to MLB,

and reflects fielding positional

adjustments, and in general the best

ones are toward the top, although it's

less accurate than the batting and

pitching.
