Bizarre Stat of the Night
Sidney Crosby overtook the Leafs Tim Connolly in the scoring race despite playing in 48 fewer games.

STUDS

Akim the Dream
Akim Aliu scored his first two National Hockey League goals to go along with three shots and two hits. The Flames right winger also had ten PIM for good measure in a 5-2 Calgary win over Anaheim.

Going out on a High Note
The Blue Jackets finished up their dismal 2011-12 season with a 7-3 victory over the Islanders. Cam Atkinson, James Wisniewski, and Vinny Prospal each recorded three points while ten Blue Jackets made the score sheet. Hopefully Columbus can carry that momentum into the Draft Lottery next week.

Smashville is Coming
The Predators pounded the Avalanche 6-1 on Saturday. Nashville had 12 players that recorded a point and Craig Smith was the best of the bunch picking up three. The goaltending was also solid as Pekka Rinne and Anders Lindback combined to stop 44 of 45 Colorado shots.

Honourable Mention

Two for the Money
Ilya Kovalchuk, Tyler Seguin, Brad Boyes, Bobby Ryan, and Taylor Pyatt all had two goals on the night.

Patrice Bergeron
A regular staple on the Saturday Studs and Duds, Bergeron had three assists in the Bruins victory over the Sabres.

Mikael Samuelsson
Samuelsson picked up three points, three shots, and three hits in a Panthers victory.

Canucks
Nice effort by Vancouver winning their second straight Presidents Trophy on the back of a shutout by Roberto Luongo.

Sharks
The Sharks beat the Kings and avoided the Canucks in the first round with two goals from Dan Boyle and two assists each from Martin Havlat and Logan Couture.

Milestones
Evgeni Malkin scored goal number 50 and Steven Stamkos hit the 60 goal mark.

DUDS

Snowed Under
Tough way to finish out the year for the Avalanche as they only managed one goal on 45 shots against the Predators. Not to mention 15 skaters finished with a minus rating and Milan Hejduk, Matt Hunwick, and Erik Johnson were a combined minus-9.

Going through the Motions
The Rangers had a chance to win the Presidents Trophy coming into today but they didn’t look interested. They gave up two goals in the first two minutes of the game and Henrik Lundqvist gave up four goals on just 17 shots.

Where's Nabokov when you need him?
Al Montoya gave up seven goals to the Blue Jackets of all teams. Without Evgeni Nabokov this year the Islanders goaltending would be in shambles as no one else has played with any consistency.

Dishonourable Mention

Tim Connolly
Connolly finished minus-4 and was on the ice for every Montreal goal.

Justin Falk
Not to be confused with Carolina's Justin Faulk, Minnesota's Justin Falk finished minus-3 against Phoenix.
