This is round one of the Gretzky Bracket, quite possibly the toughest bracket yet. Remember to read the article on the front page to see the full bracket but for now cast your votes and comment away, we want to hear what you have to say!

Here are links to the other polls this round:

#1 Henrik Sedin vs. #8 Joe Thornton
#2 Daniel Sedin vs. #7 Eric Staal
#4 Corey Perry vs. #5 Ryan Getzlaf

Yikes, this a toughie. But i'll go Parise.

Love the teammate vs. teammate matchups. This one and the Getz. vs. Perry matchup.

Went with Kovy here but it was tough. I like his goal scoring advantage.

Give me Parise. Has put his injury behind him and love his attitude over Kovalchuk's anyday.

I think the interesting dynamic here is that if Parise leaves that could be a big upgrade for him and downgrade for Kovalchuk. Conversely, if Parise stays then the status quo remains, which may give Kovalchuk the advantage. A lot of hypotheticals to speculate about on this one.

If you remove Kovy's 2 month slump to start last season, he's been a point per game since 2006 (and the 2 years prior to 2006). So consistent, and with a mid 90s upside. Gotta take Kovy.
