I know it would seem counterintuitive to the Sabres 'win now' mode but I just wonder if they would want to deal him to simply get his 4M contract off the books. They've really strapped themselves hard with Leino/Stafford/Ehrhoff.
Then again they have Hecht and Boyes coming off the books so that's 7.5M coming off that they probably won't need back.
