Not the most eclectic brands, but my personal favs, nonetheless.

And not to piss on anyone's cornflakes but if you have to add a piece of fruit to your beer...you need to change beers.

EDIT: Oh...Negro Modelo (though I don't have that too often) and Chimay White Trappist is a potent Belgian @ 8%. They serve that at the Blue Monk on Elmwood Ave. Great beer selection there.
Spaten Oktoberfest is another one of my favs. There's a local German deli that is authentic as it gets and we usually grab a few Spatens, some brats, and German potato salad, fire up the grill and it's a pretty solid time.

Duvel is by far the best.

If any of you guys happen to come in Quebec, you should try out any beers from a local microbrewer called Unibroue. Not all equally good, but all worth tasting.

I'm slowly evolving. Used to be the ONLY beer I would drink was Budweiser. I mean it was either Bud or nothing. That changed a few years back, but like I said I evolve slowly. I'm far more game for trying new beers then I ever was. Particularly where Stouts and IPA's are concerned.
Your beer mug isn't half-empty, your just half-way to the next refill.....

I like Bud, a lot actually. Not Lite, mind you. Just Bud...on a hot summer's day it is very refreshing and cheap too.

Duballstar, my place or yours?!? Love the brats!

Oh, and that Blue Monk place I mentioned, they fry their french fries in duck fat. You ever have fries fried in duck fat???

I'm about to ditch work now.....

Fully support this statement/endorsement. Creemore is outstanding - my go to on tap at the pub.

    Also enjoy:

    Peroni (Italian)
Most beers by Unibroue (smaller brewery out of Quebec) - Maudite is incredible
    Staropramen (Czech)
    Zywiec (Polish)
Sam Adams - my go to when south of the border

I love Negra Modelo. Don't drink it often but it's definitely nice once in a while. The wrapping makes it seem so classy too!

Duvel is awesome, awesome beer. Not all that readily available around my parts though. Only times I've had it is when I've been in Europe.

Wasn't a big fan of Peroni as far as Italian beers but I really enjoyed Nastro Azzuro.

Never heard of frying anything in duck fat. Hell I work for a company that supplies food for restaraunts, hospitals, and schools. We stock over 12,000 different items and I'm fairly damn sure we don't stock duck fat.

That said it sounds like the perfect side dish to go with the Guinness and Krispy Kreme Cheeseburgers I'm having tomorrow night.

+1 for the Blue Monk. I try and pop in there or Cole's every time I'm in Buffalo. The Duck Frites are great. Beer selection is also quite impressive.

Mmm beer, this thread is making me thirsty.

Without a doubt belgium has the most and greatest brews overall, not only are they tasty but they also tend to have a higher alchol content.

Innis and Gunn is an incredible beer. Lots of flavour so it may not be for everyone. good sipping beer, probably don't want to drink a dozen in a night.

    Chimay is another good sipper.

A recent find which is brewed right here in Canada is Cameron's Lager. I prefer the dark. Worth checking out if you are in Canada.

    Time to go try some....
