The Pens don't seem to have much faith in Zatkoff, surprised they haven't made a trade for a capable backup..

Malkin is back!!!! Look out Jets..

Wonder what the record is for most healthy scratches in a row? Why don't the Pens just send Plotnikov to the minors for now? Even if he goes through waivers it's not like they really want him since they refuse to play him. I'm baffled at this situation.

They could move him at the deadline.

Interesting article from the local paper this morning about Plotnikov. Gives some nice insight about why he was scratched so much.

General manager Jim Rutherford said Plotnikov's request to return to Russia during the Christmas roster freeze was his Waterloo with the Penguins.

“We couldn't accommodate that because the freeze was on,” Rutherford said. “From that point on, it was kind of like, you know, he wasn't all-in here, and that's really what the coach wanted. He wanted players that were all-in. So, he kind of got pushed aside at that point.”

Sigh...I held on to Hornqvist for a solid 30% of the season during his crappy times, eventually having to drop him to bring someone back off the IR.

And I just traded a 4th round pick in my redraft for a 7th and Kessel.

I wish I had just held on to Hornqvist for free lol.

Not much to say. Beaten by the Flames. The Hagelin Kunitz swap didn't last long. Both were move back to the respective line. Hagelin left for stitches in the first but was back in the second.

Josh Archibald made his NHL debut on the fourth line.

Crosby and Hornqvist looked good. 2G for Crosby. 2A for Hornqvist.

Win one, lose one. Win one, lose one. If they don't watch out they are going to play themselves right out of a wildcard spot.

Murray's there for the back-to-backs and possibly a couple of games towards the end of the season if/when they lock up spot. If they want to get in the playoffs then they have to ride the guy who can get them there, Fleury.

Win against the Jackets with a loss of Malkin. Trend says they will lose the next one, tomorrow against the the Rangers. I'm saying win.

That was a huge win over the Rangers, especially without Malkin..
