    Today from rotoworld.

The Blues will give prospects Ty Rattie and Dmitrij Jaskin chances to make to the opening-night roster.
Rattie was the team's second-round pick in 2011 and had 48 goals and 110 points in the WHL's regular season. He added 20 more goals and 36 more points in 21 playoff games. Jaskin put up 46 goals and 99 points in the QMJHL last season. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong wants to see these guys make an impact at the NHL level very soon. "(Rattie's) going to get a very good look in training camp and he's going to get a look with some of our better players," Armstrong said. "It's a big step from junior hockey to the NHL. He's a talented goal scorer and he's scored at every level. He'll get a look and if he's ready to play, he'll play. That will be the same with Jaskin."
This leads me to believe that Stewart is on the way out. So much depth (although RW is weak after Tarasenko).

I should mention that Sobotka, Oshie and Backes have been known to play the RW in the past. Pure log jam. Great problem to have I guess. Plenty of high value assets.

Armstrong was quoted saying that he'd rather see Sobotka moved to the wing as opposed to Backes.

I don't watch enough Blues games to really weigh in, but it just surprises me the lack of love that Stewart receives everywhere he goes. Sounds like he's not 100% effort all the time, but you cant ever argue his production. He's only had one poor stretch in his young career and there's plenty of time to find that level of dedication that is needed to take the next step. I think he'll get there. From what I know, this is a guy I'd love to have on my favorite team.

I noticed the same thing and can't help but think he's on his way out of STL. Big frame and in his prime at 25 yrs old. Interesting player. STL has some nice options at forward.

Now that Stewart has re-signed, Perron has left and Paajarvi has been added, how do you see the lines shaking out? Tough team to predict.

    Hitchcock envisions these forward pairings:

Steen-Backes (with them changing between playing center and winger)
    Roy-Stewart
    Paajarvi-Berglund

Oshie, Schwartz and Tarasenko fit in somewhere with those pairings.

Thanks for the link, that's a fair place to start. Personally, I would love to see Schwartz centering Paajarvi and Tarasenko, but I won't be surprised if Hitch decides to put a youngster on each line for balance.

    Maybe:
    Steen - Backes - Schwartz
    Roy - Stewart - Oshie
    Paajarvi - Berglund - Tarasenko

Who knows, I guess - we'll likely see ten different variations over the course of the season, with Sobotka thrown in at times, and maybe cups for Rattie or Jaskin too.

Could happens. All the lines you listed have the players playing their natural position. Although here's what I think

    Steen-Backes-Oshie
    Schwartz-Roy-Stewart
    Paajarvi-Berglund-Tarasenko
