For now, with those three lines which ones get the most ice time? Or will it be spread pretty evenly or depend on the game situation?

for any given night the lines that aren't doing their jobs will lose ice-time to those that are. same as last year. you also have to expect some changes as the year progresses.

too early to put much into any of these tweets yet,

    but...

lots of grumblings out there say that schwartz has a spot to lose on the opening night roster.

However the dominoes fall otherwise, you can count on Ken Hitchcock sticking with one particular forward line combo to start the season. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the head coach of the St. Louis Blues intends to skate Vladimir Tarasenko, Alexander Steen , and Andy McDonald together.

"They like playing with each other," Hitchcock said.

Which is handy, since the head coach has had this combo in his head since the summer.

As for how the rest of the Blues' top nine fit together, David Perron, David Backes, and T.J. Oshie are projected to play together, while Jaden Schwartz -- if he sticks -- could skate with Patrik Berglund and Chris Stewart. That would leave Matt D'Agostini on the outside, looking in.

I wonder why he would put Tarasenko on the 3rd line even if he likes the chemistry. Because Stewart and Oshie are ahead of him? Not for long methinks.

Interesting lines. I don't think it really matters what line it is because all 3 lines will be rolled fairly evenly I'd think.

Kind of surprised to see Schwartz sticking based on his AHL numbers.

Also, D'Agostini gets dinked by this.

schwartz has been very very good in the ahl, despite his numbers and his teammates.

best player in camp by all reports, for whatever that is worth. but by all indications, he simply has shown too much to be sent down.

and the lines will change. they always do.

I wouldn't really call it the third line. With the Blues' forward situation, I'd call them 1A, 1B and 1C, they're so close to each other in potential and two-way play.

Pietrangelo's breakaway pass to Oshie's shorthanded goal was a beauty!

As an owner, great to see Tarasenko's 2G/5SOG stat line. Great game by Stewart as well.
