McDonald had a fantastic playoffs last year and if can stay healthy that is going to be imo, one of the most dynamic lines in the league. I drafted both Tarasenko and McDonald in my draft so I'm hoping for big things out of them.....funny thing is I got Tarasenko with the very last pick in the draft (120th) and McDonald in the 9th round.

I like his skill and hockey IQ but I think he's too small at 5'9.

On an unrelated note, Tarasenko looks siiiiiiiick. What a star.

Holey moley. That Tarasenko guy. What a great start to his career.

Berglund seems to be the forgotten man on that team. Remember all the hype he had?

...and one game later Berglund seems to be, uh, 'less forgotten' now...

Plus another episode of the Tarasenk-Show. This team is so much fun to watch.

I had Redden in my salary cap league a few years ago when he was $6.5 million and producing nothin'! It makes my brain quiver with confusion to see him back in the NHL!

Could you guys give me a run down on what St. Louis's lines are?

Wondering if i should be replacing McDonald with Steen, but I am not to aware of who is playing with who at the moment and who is running the PP

No, you shouldn't replace Andy Mac with Steen. Both are on the same line with Tarasenko. The other 1st line is Oshie - Perron - Backes.

As far as PP1 goes: Mcdonald, Oshie, Steen, Perron, Stewart, Berglund, Tarasenko all see about the same amount of PP time.

I would hold on to McDonald over Steen, no question.

Andy started on a line with Backes and Oshie tonight, not sure if it stuck through the game.

Last I checked, Steen was with McDonald and Stewart. Tarasenko was with Berglund and Schwartz. Hitch has been switching it up lately because they've been losing.

McDonald is probably the better offensive player, but I'm finding Steen to be pretty useful these days, especially with all the SOG he's getting. He had a great stat line tonight. 1 G, 2A, 2PPP, 6SOG. Only bad thing was the -2.

Ok - what about steen vs perron? Perron hasn't been bad point wise, it is just that steen seems to be generating more offense (pts, sog) and has a lower cap hit. I think Perron has more up side, but this is a 1 year league and I don't get to see St. Louis play :/

    Thanks!

I think Perron is the better offensive talent and will probably still out-point Steen this season. For me, Steen is just an FA pick-up that has been a pleasant surprise thus far, but who knows if it will last? He's not a PPG player.

Steen has always produced when put in an offensive role in St.Louis but he's often the recipient of getting booted from the powerplay/a scoring line when the team shakes their lines up as he can be a pretty effective checker too. I think the 3 scoring line system in St.Louis will really help him as he'll always have decent linemates to play with.

I really don;t view either of he or Perron too too much in a keeper so really I'd jsut ride the hot hand between the two.

First player on the ice this morning for the #stlblues: Alex Steen. Right behind him: Vladimir Tarasenko, then Andy McDonald.
