Yeah, I think the first time I really started becoming intrigued by the possibility was Feb 7 after they beat the Flyers 1-0 and I saw they had a game against the Panthers, Jets, and two against the Senators before the deadline.

Too bad they didn't win that game against the Panthers that game was pretty big. Worst part was they jumped out to the 1-0 lead and then dropped a huge turd for the rest of the game.

    Hey fellas,
any words on that stupid starting gig in NYI in the long run?

Montoya now fully out of chances and Poulin in front of him? Or will they continue with a 10-headed monster every season.

one of the isles beat writers held an online chat (A.Staple)and eluded that they'd like to move forward with a Nabokov/Poulin tandem.

he also said something along the lines of the team not having much confidence in Montoya's abilities.

Nabokov is interested in resigning , but expressed concern over how the team allows Dipietro to use precious NHL starts to re-hab .He probably feels as though Dipietro should be re-habbing in the AHL instead of NHL , which I totally agree with .

boils down to Nabby resigning / or not .

Thank you sir. This made me bascially move Montoya,Carlson and Booth for Schneider. ( goalie heavy league)

Good to see my thoughts on Montoya confirmed. I've never thought he's any good even though Dobber and others keep saying otherwise. Can give myself a pat on the back for this one

Going with Nabby and Poulin would be the best option for Islanders. No more three headed monster. Let DiPietro rehab himself in AHL or if he refuses to do that, then keep him as only a practise goalie. Then in a few years as Nabby leaves, Nilsson should be ready to step in and challenge Poulin.

    Two things:

    1. I have heard there could be a possible deal of Pk Subban going to the Islanders for there 1st round pick in 2012 and Calvin De Haan.

HF boards ''trade proposal'' threads should be taken with a grain of salt .

It was not hf boards proposal. Those are two different topics, the islander prospect awards are hockey future. Not sure where you got hf boards from. I never said i got that trade from hf boards.

well , post a link to the article , blog , tweet that you got the info from .

the only thing I've come across is hf board trade proposals with isles fans and hab fans trading ideas back and forth on what fair value would be.

I just find it hard to believe a new management team in montreal would be dangling ''one of'' their best assets unless the order is coming from above.

    some small news
after spending a season in the SEL the isles resigned jesse joensuu --1 year , 1 way with a euro ''out'' clause .

    adds some nice size (6'4 , 210) to the bottom 6 .
