Also, did anyone else notice the empty seats tonight? What a joke. When the Canadian anthem was sung, the "True North" yell by Jets fans could be heard crystal clear. How many actual Panthers fans attended this game?

They said the attendance was over 14k.... I think they make those numbers up. Looked more like 4k.

The Jets won back-to-backs on Thursday and Friday. Both wins were on the road (in Florida and in Tampa).

Tonight, they end their four-game road trip in New Jersey.

    Some news:

Jets have acquired forward Tomas Kubalik from Columbus for Spencer Machacek.

Alex Burmistrov is scratched tonight. Noel thinks he knows what he's doing.

    Jets 5 Leafs 2

The Jets started off fast and never slowed down. It was their best home game of the season.

Tonight, the Jets got scoring from their bottom lines. Secondary scoring came through for once (Welly, Antro). The big guns continued to do work as well (Wheeler, Kane). Pavelec was also spectacular in net for yet another consecutive game.

So much effort and hard work. If they play like this every night, they're a playoff team for certain. As of now, the Jets are tied for 8th with a huge showdown against the Rangers on Thursday.

    Notes
-Wellwood and Antropov had their best games of the season.
-Wright is a work horse. He gives all effort all the time. Grows on me each game.
    -Wheeler had 2 goals.
-Kane is getting ready to go on another huge goal streak.

You can tell that Wellwood and Antropov like to play their old team. Hopefully they've got more games like that in them.

    Agree with ASF's assessment.

I'm so impressed with Ladd this season. He was good last season, but this year he's been a full cut above. His foot speed is better, his stamina seems better, he makes very few mistakes on the ice, and his compete level every shift of every game has been spot on. If he can maintain this kind of effort level going forward, he may just be a more productive player than was once expected. It's a tall order to play like that game in game out, but so far he's doing it. He looks like a guy who could flirt with 65-70 points, rather than the 55-60 point guy that he's been thus far. Time will tell.

Loved the fans tonight, too. I couldn't make out all the chants, but I enjoyed the "Let's go Blue Jays" chants.

I must say Winnipeg played very well last night and the leafs didnt look able to keep up with them. Winnipeg was up for it and the Leafs were not.

Pavelec was phenomenal in net and made some huge saves.

Yeah, Pavelec was amazing, and the Jets need that to have any success.

They can play some terrific hockey, and their overall size and speed make them difficult to play against when they're clicking. Their biggest hurdle is playing like this every game. They tend to let up on teams below them in the standings, and that's super frustrating.

Slater is out with an UBI, so Cormier has been called up.

Definately, the best game I've been to this year! The Jets finally played a full 60. Let's hope for another win Thursday to get the Jets back to .500 at home!

My piece on Burmistrov early today. Hopefully, he's back in the lineup tomorrow.

Not sure if Cormier will even see a game.

Hey, AtlantaSportsFan, what's your outlook on Pavelec for the rest of this year and next? What kind of numbers do you expect from him? What's his biggest strength/weakness?

Sounds as though Burmistrov is likely to sit out again tonight. Cormier should draw in for the injured Slater.

Winnipeg is likely to get the Heritage Classic in February/March of 2016. Nothing official, but Chipman said he sees no reason why it wouldn't happen. Man, that would be a blast!
