Default 10th Year STHS2 Sim League - One Opening

The NSHL is an STHS2 based simulated hockey league currently playing its 10th year and the Columbus Blue Jackets have recently become available. The franchise has been around since the NSHL's first season and the GM has recently decided to hang'em up due to a busy schedule.

WHAT THE NSHL NEEDS IN A GM
Compared to normal 'keeper' leagues or even other 'sim' leagues the NSHL is quite in-depth and requires a lot of GM participation throughout the year (in-season and off-season). For people with a passion for this type of league it's very well received but can be a bit too much for people with limited internet access.

The league is best suited for people with regular access to a computer and the internet and use MSN Messenger regularly. To edit lines the STHS provides a line editor standalone program which is downloaded and run from the computer of each GM in order to adjust the roster, ticket prices and lines.

    ABOUT THE NSHL
The league has 24 teams and runs on a 78 game regular season schedule with 16 teams making the Playoffs. The majority of the GMs in the league have been around since the early years, with only one or two teams turning over each year.

The league has recently gone from STHS-based re-rates to league based re-rates which are generated based on the results of the previous season.

The NSHL prides itself on being original and offers a number of 'outside the box' features like a customized Point Scoring Tournament (currently running!), a Training Camp that allows GMs to build their player ratings as well as a recently re-structured and customized CBA.

    ABOUT THE JACKETS
The team is currently 10th in the Western Conference and is 4 points out of a playoff spot after 25 games. The team has some expensive contracts and is in some financial trouble but with a handful of one year contracts for talented players, it's definitely fixable.

This past off-season the Jackets inked two of the top names on the league's free agent market, Roberto Luongo and Dan Boyle and have a couple of other 'prime aged' players under contract to build around (Jeff Carter, Ales Hemsky, Andrei Kostitsyn).

The team is ideal for an experienced, mature GM who likes a challenge and wants to be able to re-build and fine tune the roster the way they want. The roster isn't very deep and the previously mentioned financial trouble can seem intimidating to some.

Please be sure to mention this post in your e-mail to me.
