Finally got the last 2 of this series - I haven't started reading them yet. Beautiful artwork (Jae Lee). Tells the story of Roland becoming a Gunslinger, and the fall of Gilead.

Is that different stories than the book series or the same stories told in comic style?

    Either way, it looks incredible.

There's both - it covers some of the stuff from Wizard & Glass when Roland is telling stories, but expands on it big time.

There are also series that reproduces the books (and also expands), though they've only gotten the first two out:

The art is absolutely incredible - totally my style.

There are plenty of fake ones!

I am a third of the way through the last book of the Dark Tower series. I feel a mixture of excitement and sadness. I dont want it to end, but I cannot wait for it to end at the same time. Strange feeling. I am not that keen to say goodbye to those characters.

Some of my best favorites written by Stephen Kings are The Shining, Salem's lot and the Dead Stone. These are the most tight and with great stories among his early works.

I'm being cautious...but I also can't help be excited on what this could bring. I hope it's not a letdown.

You didn't see the trailer I posted a couple months ago. Looks like it was stolen from somewhere, but it is definitely real.

Now that is a trailer! Woooooooooooo.... It definitely looks like it received the Hollywood treatment. Not too happy about that, but I will still likely see it on the day it is released.

Firstly, why do they have to make trailers so long! It's one of my pet peeves - why do you need to show that much in a trailer? Also, and I agree with your post, AW, is that it definitely had the hollywood treatment and not sure how I feel about that. Most importantly, for something I've been eagerly anticipating for years, for an epic of a story, I was wanting goosebumps..I wanted that anticipation, that excitement while watching it. I didn't get any of it. All I felt was that this could be another run-of-the-mill action/fantasy film that will be forgotten. I know I'm being negative, but also I feel I need to be realistic.

Hopefully I'll be wrong and it'll turn out to be a success. But for a story that I could have seen rival LOTR, I'm just not sure it will happen.
