ESPN: 100 fantasy facts

Kind of similar to Friedman's 30 Thoughts.....except here there are 100. I gained some useful knowledge out of it...

For instance..

Quote:

1. In 2012, "Pitcher A" had 200 strikeouts, a 3.48 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP in 212 innings pitched.

12. "Pitcher B" had 194 strikeouts, a 3.37 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP in 219 innings pitched.

13. "Pitcher A," Zack Greinke, is going about nine rounds ahead of "Pitcher B," Jake Peavy, in early live draft results.

Great article, thanks for sharing.

I love this:

"So we have a deal, right? I'll send you Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis, and I'll take Angels first baseman Albert Pujols off your hands.

No go, huh? Thought we might have had something there."

Its funny how people tend to get caught up in names and not the numbers. While its fun to own your favorite players, the teams that win are the teams that focus on numbers and I dont mean that in baseball. That is true in any fantasy type of sport.

I could list a few times even in the past week that I have attempted to wheel and deal and watch people get caught up in the name game. People forget that things like Hits, PIMs, +/- get you fantasy points and makes multi-cat guys just as valuable (or in some cases) more valuable then the top league scorers.
