Dubnyk

Banged up got ran into by Harty. Helped off the ice, Danis in.

If the Oilers hang on, will Dubnyk be award a win? How does this get decided by league officials? I've wondered for a long time.

nhl.com lists Dubnyk as having played 29:45 TOI.

As long as the Oilers never relinquish the lead, Dubnyk will get the win.

Edit: Oops I'm an idiot. Not true.

"Relinquish" the lead... interesting. Would a 6-6 tie game and an additional goal by EDM in OT or a shootout give Danis the win tonight?

As long as the Oilers never lose the lead, Dubnyk will get the win.

This isn't true is it?...I've always seen it as the goalie on record is who was in net when the game winner was scored. So in this case, had Edmonton won 4-3, then Dubnyk would have still gotten the win. However, they never reliquished the lead, but Hall had the 6th and game winning goal while Danis was in net, and thus Danis gets the win.

Ah you're right! My apologies I'm out to lunch on this one. I think I was confused because typically I am looking at it from the perspective of who gets hit with the loss if a goalie comes in for relief. Sorry Fspen.

No worries at all. Glad I checked this thread again. I wasn't sure either! Thanks guys.

every goalie injury thread turns into a "does he get the win?" thread. Maybe a stick should get posted on it :)

How badly did Dubs get hurt on the play? anyone see any notes on how long he could be out for if at all...

Khabby is injured right? so Danis is starting for now?

thats the real info i'd like :)

EDIT: saw this online

It was a tough night for Edmonton Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk who was bowled over by teammate Teemu Hartikainen immediately after stopping Marian Hossa on a short-handed breakaway. He left the game with a stinger, but expects to be back by Tuesday.
Dubnyk will be evaluated again Monday in Denver, monitor his status before Tuesday's game vs. Colorado.
