Strome or Kuznetsov

Who do you prefer in 3 part.

Who do you prefer for next year?
Who has the best potentiel?
Who has the best chance to reach is potentiel in the NHL?

Thanks

Who do you prefer for next year? Strome ... Kuznetsov won't play until after the Olympics at the earliest
Who has the best potentiel? Kuznetsov and IMO its not even close
Who has the best chance to reach is potentiel in the NHL? Kuznetsov ... If he actually comes over as he says he will. If you don't have the stomach for it and want a sure bet, take Strome.

Thanks

Put my preferences above in bold

Agree completely with all 3. I own Kuznetsov in a pts only keeper (deep rosters) and I wouldn't trade him for Strome.

As far as answering your questions, I agree with NikW71.

That being said, I am not as confident as some that he will come over to the NHL. I am confident that the KHL will throw insane amounts of money at him to keep him there when his contract expires. He just watched a lot of Russians struggle to go back to the NHL after the lockout. I am sure Ovechkin will get in his ear to bring him over but will he turn down the offers coming at him from the KHL for an entry level salary from the NHL. That will be the big question mark surrounding Kuznetsov. Not his skills, but will he come.

And there in lies the risk surrounding Kuznetsov. No fear in Strome and his focus on where he wants to play. He doesnt have the potential that Kuznetsov has (not saying Strome isnt skilled) but he comes with that doubt and risk.

I think Strome will be a bust and I don't think Kuznetsov will ever come over. I know, that probably doesn't help.

I am a Strome owner and I don't worry for a second that he will "bust", although maybe BlackGold has a different definition than me. Kuznetsov appears to have higher upside, not going to debate that, but you can't miss out on your supposed can't miss prospects, so the Russian factor really comes in to play. For that reason I would not trade Strome for Kuznetsov and I recommend Strome unless you really feel you can afford to strike-out completely on a prospect.

Strome for next year; Kuznetsov takes the other two questions, that is of course if he does come over and chooses to stay.

Strome is one of my favorite prospects and the slack he takes around here is 100% unwarranted and there is no logical reason for it. He has done nothing but excel at every level, has all the tool sets to be a star in the NHL. That being said Kuznetsov is not a prospect he is a Star already and is the best player in the World outside of the NHL. He is the easy choice.

I cant comment on Kuznetsov but I'll say a few things about Strome .

I like how he's able to stickhandle , shoot , pass effectively while using a longer stick .
the longer stick enables him to keep the puck away from stick checks and on the flipside gives him a better weapon to use when he's on the forechceck/backcheck .

the JT/MMoulson line really miss Parenteau's ability to skate the puck through neatral zone into o-zone .Strome has that same skill and my gut feeling tells me he'll be riding shotgun with JT and Moulson next year .

he works out with JT/MM during the offseasons so they have a great relationship already .
