2013 - Top 10 Keeper League LW

2012 List - http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index...gus&Itemid=102

2011 List - http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index...gus&Itemid=102

2010 List - http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index...gus&Itemid=102

Thoughts/projections? Trying my best to pick players who ACTUALLY play LW compared to those who are listed as LW on Yahoo! or ESPN.

Ovechkin is done as my number one. Who will replace him?

I'll have my list published in the next week or two... would like to see yours!

If the fantasy hockey sites actually get positions set properly, LW is going to be a thin, thin, thin position again.

Here is my list (with my last year's ranks in brackets):
My top 10:
1. Ovechkin (1)
2. D.Sedin (2)
3. Parise (3)
...
...
4. E.Kane (5)
5. T.Hall (NR)
6. B.Ryan (6)
...
7. Vanek (NR)
8. Hartnell (7)
9. Lucic (NR)
10. Landeskog (9)

Other considerations: Marleau, Eriksson, Sharp, Kunitz, Pacioretty, Moulson, Lupul
Losing their LW: Benn (C), Datsyuk (C), Zetterberg (C), Neal (RW), Kovalchuk (RW), Heatley (RW)
I'm not sure what the NYR wingers will be: Nash & Gaborik. Both could be RW. Has Gaborik played enough LW to qualify?

Looks to me that Kovalchuk lost his RW, not his LW.

AFAIC, the position that they actually play is immaterial, as long as Yahoo (or whoever) is going to list them at a given position.

So, I would consider Kovy an LW until the day comes that he's listed otherwise.

My view that in the long run it isn't safe to rely on a player having positional eligibility for a position he doesn't actually play.

Oh, I don't know. Relying on Yahoo's rectal-cranial inversion hasn't failed me yet. ;)

Trying to anticipate the whims of Yahoo (or of their data-provider) is what strikes me as a somewhat dicey proposition...

Well yeah, but they use real game action, so position matters in the long run.

I think it will balance out - they used to be horrible with dual eligibility, but now they have gone overboard giving it to everyone (especially W/C... I'd wager only 10-20% of those listed as dual actually play both).

My list from last year looks like this:

1. Ovechkin
2. D.Sedin
3. Parise
4. E. Kane
5. Ryan
6. Lucic
7. Hall
8. Landeskog
9. Eriksson
10. Moulson

Its hard to believe I had Ovechkin down last year at #1 considering how much of a disbeliever I have become in his game. He wont make a fool of me this year.

My top 10 for this year:

1. Parise
2. D. Sedin
3. Hall
4. Landeskog
5. Ryan
6. EKane
7. Ovechkin
8. Lucic
9. Eriksson
10. Hartnell

HM: Vanek, Moulson, MaxPac, Sharp (in that order)

I know you have misgivings about Nash, but I'm surprised he didn't even get an HM?

I can understand OV dropping in the standings. But what has Bobby Ryan done recently to justify being higher than him?

Isn't Nash a RW with NYR?

I believe they are rolling:
Gaborik(LW)-B.Richards-Callahan
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash

I think Gaborik is the one who has made the transition to a possible LW?
No?
