Daniel Alfredsson

I'm just curious on the consensus of his value in a keeper league.

Is he coming back next year? I know he's on the last year of his current deal and there were rumors he wasn't coming back for this season, and he did.

Does anyone think he's coming back next year?

I currently own him but I have someone in one of my keepers interested in trading for him. Any idea of his worth??? What would you take for him? Prospects? Picks? Anyone have an idea??

If you're competing and you need his production down the road then I'd keep him with the full intention of losing him at the end of the year. I think his trade value is minimal so getting a prospect or draft pick would be the ideal trading asset to get back.

I would say the same thing. If you are not contending this year then he would be useless to you. I would trade him for a prospect or draft pick.

Edit: Guys like Alfredsson are just rental players at this point in their careers.

Thanks for the reply gainerama. Rep to you!

I have a solid team, but I dont think I have the horses to win it all. I have to be realistic and look further then this year I believe.

I have been offered Jonathon Blum and a 4th round pick for Alfie.

Worth doing?

its a 26 team league and the pick would be a mid 4th rounder.

Thoughts?

I would make the trade. You are getting a good young prospect who should be a full time NHLer next season. You are getting a good return on Alfie.
