Whittling down my 12

Based on your feedback in the other "Keep 12" thread, I am down to this order for my guys:

1 3B*Beltre, Adrian*3B*-*TEX
2 2B*Kinsler, Ian*2B*-*TEX
3 Kuroda, Hiroki*SP*-*NYY
4 Hammel, Jason*SP*-*BAL
5 Buchholz, Clay*SP*-*BOS
6 UT*Rizzo, Anthony*(R)*1B*-*CHC
7 1B*Swisher, Nick*1B,RF*-*CKE
8 BN*Teixeira, Mark*1B*-*NYY
9 C*Montero, Miguel*C*-*ARI
10 RF*Hart, Corey*1B,RF*-*MIL
11 Perez, Chris*RP*-*CLE
12 Hudson, Tim*SP*-*ATL
13 LF*Aoki, Norichika*(R)*LF,CF,RF*-*MIL
14 Lewis, Colby*SP*-*TEX
15 BN*Parra, Gerardo*LF,CF,RF*-*ARI
16 Betancourt, Rafael*RP*-*COL*
17 Luebke, Cory*SP*-*SD*
18 Paxton, James*SP*-*SEA

I'm not considering the other nine guys so I left them off this list.

Based on this, the cutoff for my keepers is Hudson. Can anyone make a case for players 13 through 18 in place of Hudson, Perez or Hart?

Maybe its just me, but I would give consideration to keeping Aoki over Corey Hart. Its certainly something I would do a little more research into before making that final decision. Hart is going to miss some time at seasons start due to another knee surgery.

Something to take a look at.

aoki is a definite keeper for me, but so is hart.

why buchholz? seems to me he would rate below luebke. poor k-rate, poor ratios, iffy health rating. you might get a sub 4 era. his floor is scary-bad.

i think you could easily re-draft buchholz. i imagine aoki would be one of the first taken.

It makes no sense to cut Hart, and keep Luebke.
Hart will be back sooner.
Plus i would rather have the 25 hr guy.
Luebke could be had in the draft.
Who knows how effective he will be once back.
Buchholz is shaky, but Hudson K rate is even worse.
I would keep Aoki and Betancourt.
I would drop Hudson and Buchholz.

i don't see anyone suggesting he keep luebke.

if you were referring to my post, please read it again.

i said keep hart. i think buchholz should be ranked below luebke. well beyond the keeper line.

He was replying to Axeman, not you.

Thanks for the opinions guys, this is great.

For what it's worth, here is my current order that will dig deeper on. I have removed the two prospects. I hate the idea of cutting four good starters though and only keeping two...yet keeping two relievers.

3B*Beltre, Adrian*3B*-*TEX
2B*Kinsler, Ian*2B*-*TEX
Kuroda, Hiroki*SP*-*NYY
BN*Teixeira, Mark*1B*-*NYY
UT*Rizzo, Anthony*(R)*1B*-*CHC
1B*Swisher, Nick*1B,RF*-*CKE
LF*Aoki, Norichika*(R)*LF,CF,RF*-*MIL
C*Montero, Miguel*C*-*ARI
Perez, Chris*RP*-*CLE
RF*Hart, Corey*1B,RF*-*MIL
Betancourt, Rafael*RP*-*COL*
Hammel, Jason*SP*-*BAL

***cutoff line***

Luebke, Cory*SP*-*SD*
Hudson, Tim*SP*-*ATL
Buchholz, Clay*SP*-*BOS
Lewis, Colby*SP*-*TEX

You guys really sold me on Aoki

i like the power potential with this list. and the speed. you free yourself up to focus on drafting at least one key starter.

this may be the last season you consider teixeira a keeper. perhaps look to trade him to someone who thinks he will bounce back.

don't trade rizzo :)
