Super Bowl: Ravens vs. 49ers..

So who wins the big game and why??

This game is a complete mismatch IMO. San Fran has a much better D. Although, I've been incredibly impressed by the ravens side since they've been healthy. San Fran has a much better offensive line, which should allow them to run the ball more effectively and give Kap plenty of time. I like the 9ers in this one, I just hope the game is closer than I expect.

P.S. my playoff progno record has been flat out embarrassing this year

I like the 49ers because I think I'll go crazy if I see Ray Lewis praying on the ground again.

I am taking the 49ers as this is their year. Finally ditching Alex Smith was the smartest thing they could of done. Caep is playing so well right now that he wiil givethe Ravens Defense all they can handle. The 49ers Defense is going to smother Flacco and company.

49ers by 7

There are two spots where I'd give the Ravens the edge -- WR and K. Why not at running back with Rice you might ask? Because I have little confidence that the Ravens will stick to it throughout the game (I just can't believe the level of confidence they put in Flacco of all people).

In my opinion, the 49ers have the better defense, offensive line, running game (by committee and philosophy), quarterback and coaching. So I'm taking SanFran as well.

Ravens because I'm a fan and I could use this. Plus Ray Lewis has the power of God and deer antlers behind him.

I'll also point out that I'm facing a terrible dilemma. I've got the Ravens at 18/1 to win the big game so I'm sitting on a big cash cow even if I hedge the bet but I feel like I'm breaking the rules of fandom if I bet on the 49ers to guarantee myself the cash.

Do I let it ride or grab the cash?

Aw, man that's a tough spot. But as a supporter of history's only 4-peat Superbowl loser (yeah, long suffering Bills fan) I'd hedge. The one thing I've learned is that if your dreams have to come crashing down it'd be nice to have them land on a soft pile of cash. Cheer with the heart, bet with the head. I'd gladly give up a little cash if my team could win the big one!

Good luck!

As soon as you lay money on a team, you're a betting man and not a fan at that point. You can not hedge and risk the Ravens losing the game and your bet (double whammy). Or you can win money regardless of the outcome. So even if the Ravens lose, you get something in return. This is what I like to call happiness insurance. Hedge the bet

I'm taking the 49ers.

Great defense, great offensive line, power running game and double threat quarterback. Watch out for LaMichael James, tons of potential and could surprise everyone in this game.
