Conacher an upgrade over slow starters, given his situation?
 

Obviously early on in the season, but just wanted some input on what you guys think of me possibly replacing a slumping winger with Cory Conacher(C/LW)...

He's just in a really good situation with the big boys in Tampa right now, and obviously has the skill and speed to keep up... Given this situation, do you think through the course of the season, maybe it actually puts him above the fantasy potential of a guy like Bobby Ryan, who's obviously hurting by the presence of Sellane... Or do you see anyone else on my team that might be the guy to let go of in favor of Conacher...?

I'm pretty happy with my team on paper actually, but just wanted to ask veteran poolies their thoughts on whether I should jump on Conacher before he gets snapped up in the pool, or sit tight and let the boys shake off the lockout rust...

I would consider dropping Voracek, Brown, or Wheeler for him. Brown is a great player, but in a fantasy league that doesn't count hits, he's really just another 55 point guy (in my opinion). In a league with hits, he's considerably more valuable.

Voracek has always been a disappointment and I can't see that changing. I really just do not think he's going to be anything, even if he gets on G's line in PHI.

Side note:

I notice your league is 7 teams, 22 players each. With only 154 players rostered, I think you might want to consider dropping all the guys I just listed if there are decent FAs. I know I usually play in leagues with 200+ players rostered and there are still waiver wire steals. Maybe take a look on the wire and see what you can find.

My bad, I didn't include goalies. So more like 175 players. Still, something to consider.

There's a lot less there than I thought actually. Not sure what to say. But I'd definitely grab Conacher.

Yeah, most of the quality is scooped up, but I did go ahead and finally pull the plug on Voracek and scoop up Conacher...
