it seems a bit early to panick and give up on a good young player, but on the other hand did he not get into a few fights with team mates last year? Perhaps they have soured on him.

The NHL isn't a day care. The only way he does get traded is if management feels that it's time.

There's lots of speculation right now.

Best pieces I've read on the topic include:

I doubt they will trade him. It makes no sense for so many reasons. He is the "face of the franchise" as far as marketing efforts are concerned and he deserves a massive paycheck for so many reasons. Oh he's also only 23 and leads the team in TOI.

The only feasable trade that wouldn't leave me really pissed off is Subban+ for Yakupov. If he were to get traded, a young star better be coming back. A repeat of the Halak trade would end in a riot.

yeah I'm really hoping the Bergevin era represents an end to that kind of idiocy. The last 15 years the Habs management has been like that guy in your fantasy pool who drafts all the guys on his favorite team because he wants to cheer for them

Good. I hope he gets traded.

But I don't think he will.

Come to Toronto PK we give out money like its candy .... we give out long term contracts as well now that Burkie is gone.

ericdaoust 01-24-2013 12:26 PM

I said it from day one that Marc Bergevin needs to do one thing above all else and that is to stop taking other teams' garbage. So if Subban does have to be traded it better be for quality.
