Why the '?'

The deal is 99% done. I guess once shovels are in the gorund this spring then I can definitely say Edmonton is getting the new arena. I'm looking forward to seeing it slowly come to shape!

Good for the Oilers. They need a new arena badly. They have one of the 2 worst arenas in the NHL IMO (Nassau Coliseum is the other).

I wouldn't celebrate yet guys. This deal is still pending on $100million in funding from the provincial government. According to council, that will be decided upon by the Province in a month's time.

So for now... the City and Katz's people have agreed to build the arena for $480million, but if the Province refuses to provide $100million then..... who knows?

I can't wait until they get a team to go along with it!
