As much as I like Dats and Vinny, I would totally pass. Your core stars are young enough to grow with Tarasenko and Duchene who would also serve as your second wave of talent for the next generation.

I would keep the 22yr old Duchene, who is on the verge of superstardom, as well as Tarasenko, who should be a stud in St.L. I don't think the small window Dats and Vinny have is worth the trade off of what you'd potentially get from Duchene and Tara. I look at this as trading one chance possibly two with next year in exchange for possible league domination and contending for the next 10 YEARS!!! That makes zero sense in my book.

I like the trade, it gives you a much better chance of winning this year. Lecavalier can still be a servicable player for you, for a good while longer. Datsyuk can probably be traded elsewhere for a good young piece, a season from now if you want to try and get younger. This trade helps your team win now, and you have a team with the ability to win now.
