John Carlson

I have Carlson in my farm

If I activate him before season start I will have to let one go for free

Would you choose CArlson over :

Mcbain ( hate losing him for free at 22 years old with the changes they made)
Pitkanen ( still no.1 guy if healthy, I know Faulk and Murphy are coming)
Bieksa ( had solid season last year, think he can repaet for sure )
Vishnovsky ( only 1 season ago he finished 1ST in D scoring... 1sttttttt)
B. Smith ( I think i have to be patient with him... only 6 dmen count... dont nedd him this year but dont want to lose him..)

have to tell to that at the 17th game of the Habs, i will be able to activate one rookie.... but i Still have Hodgson, Tarasenko, Granlund, that i might want to activate...

anyway... what Dobber Experts think of that?

I can activate him at the 17th game of the Montreal Canadiens...

if not It will have to be at the beggining of next season.

Either way I think you have to try to find space for Carlson and I do think he's a better option than a few of your other D. The new Head Coach in WAS will open up the offense a bit. I was reading this morning that WAS's defense coach is encouraging his guys to be pushing the puck up the ice...all of them. Couple this with the absence of Wideman and the injury to Orlov and this just bodes well for his offensive skill set to get every opportunity to succeed.

I don't think Visnovsky's head is in North America and would understand that switch.
I don't see enough PP time for Bieksa to ever duplicate 40+ again.
McBain will be lucky to be sitting #3 on CAR D depth chart.

I would understand switching any one of these 3 out for Carlson.

I would dump Visnovsky because I don't see him having a strong season with a team he doesn't want to be with. He as talent, but I'm not sure he wants to use them right now.
If you plan a keeping him than I would suggest dropping McBain.

Visnovsky for sure, he seems determined to wait it out in the K.

Could you not get a draft pick from someone for Visnovsky? Someone should be willing to take a shot on him. I think Bieksa's days are numbered also and his ceiling is lower than the rest. I would be more prone to dropping him instead of Vis.
