Tequilamonster & 1k - A Day of Infamy and Reflection
 

When people turn left, I tend to go right. Likewise, when people go right, I tend to chose left. At the age of seven, I lasted a month in the Cub Scouts before begging to be pulled. In high school...well, suffice to say I annoyed each social clique with equal disgust. Heck, office team meetings - with the "rah-rah" speech - result in tongue bleeds. And don't even get me started on religious fundamentalism.

I do so not out of some reflexive impulse, without thought or contemplation, nor out of some obsessive need for attention. No, I have always just had this innate disdain for and fear of groupthink - perhaps a gene passed down from me Mother.

So this morning when I noticed Tequliamonster had surpassed the 1k plateau, I thought to myself "Hmmmmmm...."

lol...Deep thought at at 5:30am is not my thing. :)

Anyway....

As I pondered my conflicted emotions on his accomplishment, I ultimately decided wtf....he deserves a nod, if not congratulations.

Why?

Because this particular group we call DobberHockeySportsFootball forums is really - as I oft refer - an amalgam of truly varied personalities (ie, misfits). Each accompanied with their respective opinions. And we embrace (w/varying degree) all members.

Now admittedly Tequilamonster would still be sitting at post #20 if it weren't for Cindy...er, Sidney Crosby (;)), but you have to admit his style is...uh, his style is....um polarizing in its delivery.

Like the inebriated Aunt or Uncle at the Thanksgiving table with diarrhea of the mouth. Or better still, I liken TM's contributions to the cherry peppers on my sausage pizza - they're going to be painful, and ya can't have them everyday of the week but they certainly add much needed zest from time to time.

So while I am not congratulating Tequliamoster for his posts per se, I would like to thank him for sticking around and making this place interesting. I might be the only one who sees the humor in your posts (intended or not), but I'm bent like that.

I have to agree with blaze on this one. I find him entertaining and he doe's know his shit no matter what anyone says. Congrates Teq....

When I read his posts I was noticing he was approaching this milestone and wondered what would happen. Usually the more extreme trolls are out of town quickly but he managed to stick around. I guess... thanks for the entertainment?

Every once in a while Tequilamonster will offer some reasonable thoughts that make sense and even the odd excellent point. They are few and far between, we will say 20% as a round figure. The other 80% are normally nothing but verbal diarrhea around Crosby or Turris.

Congrats on your 200 solid posts and 800 verbal diarrhea posts! More of the solid poo and less of the runny stuff as you head towards 2K!
