Voynov or Whitney?
Points only keeper, heavy D goal weighted, trying to make a run
Who'd you rather? |
I think Whitney is your better option if you're going for the win. He might get hurt, but he's a great gamble with that Oilers offence. Go for the Home Run.

Whitney - proven to be capable. Proven to be injury prone (world's strangest feet)
Voynov - Stanley Cup, slowly developed, remarkably secure as a blueline option for being a young guy. Great upside... not nearly so proven... No correct answer here. Me, probably Voynov, but my view has been tarnished by participating in a couple of cap pools. Lets see: Voynov - limited NHL experience Doughty - star or super star? Kopi - star or super star? Carter - needs rebound Richards - needs rebound Brown - should be in 60 point window or Eberle - did point-a-game once Hall - nice in the AHL, but didn't run away Yak - no NHL experience Schultz - no NHL experience Hemsky - injuries? Whitney - injuries? As far as teammates are concerned, for the coming year, I'll risk with the LA bunch. The Edmonton bunch is AWESOME, but a few years from being at the top of their top. |
Whitney is always hurt. I have to go with Voynov by default.
|
Give me Whitney.
Voynov is stuck behind Doughty and Martinez on the PP chart. Whitney will be starting the year on PP1 and my guess is he'll end there as well. While he has an injury history, he's had extra time to rehab and has stated that he is fully recovered and excited to get back playing. |
Trying to make a run, I would roll the die on Whitney. Whitney if healthy could put up some really good numbers this season.

Still could put up good numbers for sure, though |

Is Martinez a lock for first unit?? |
I'd go Voynov personally, but that's because I love his game. He just won't score as many goals as whitney.
