No one elected into HOF

So the writers have spoken. They have decided that no one on the ballot for this year deserves to get into the HOF. I dont have a problem with that. To me, nothing bothers me more then seeing people getting into the Hall of FAME just because the voters feel they NEED to put someone in there. The steroid era is mainly to blame for this as well.

One of the best quotes I read regarding the Steroid era came from Mike Schmidt:

"Curt Schilling made a good point, everyone was guilty. Either you used PED's or you did nothing to stop their use. This generation got rich. Seems there was a price to pay."

Hall of Fames should be held at the highest esteem. Only the greats should be in there, not the really good ones. That's what makes a Hall of Fame special. The Hockey Hall of Fame could learn a thing or two from this setup.

Part of the problem is some of these guys are considered greats. Barry Bonds, love him or hate him, was one of the best hitters I ever saw. Maybe even the best. I still think guys like him will end up in there in a few years.

I don't have a whole lot of respect left for Bonds or Clemens. If they don't make it I won't be upset at all.

I actually agree with you here as far as Bonds being one of the better players in our era. That being said, he cheated (albeit never technically proven) and even if he didnt he is guilty by association. I would rather see Pete Rose get in before the Steroid Era boys.

I wholeheartedly agree with THIS.
