Goalie Conundrum

Keeper League, goalie stats are W SV% and SO. In desperate need of a goalie. Following goalies are available, what do you think. Was leaning Rask but still not sold.

Rask
Price
Bryzgalov
Lehtonen
Ward
Kipper
Luongo

Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the boards!

I'd rank 'em:

Price
Rask
Lehtonen
Ward
Bryzgalov
Kipper
Luongo

There's a major emphasis in your league on having a workhorse starter. No better than Price IMO.

Also major emphasis on stats. Rask can get more wins in less starts.

Rask
Price
Luongo (if traded, drop to the bottom if not)
Lehtonen
Ward
Bryzgalov
Kipper

I don't disagree but Rask is less proven so that's a factor as well.

True, but I think the quality of team offsets that, Boston is much better than Montreal

Yep, that would be how Rask gets more wins in less starts if it happens. Either way, they are 1-2.

Basically I agree, but I'd bump up Ward a few spots. For a keeper league he's valueable because he's young, yet proven and gets to play behind a much improved team (at least on paper). And his talent has always been top notch.

For me it's

Price
Ward
Rask (unproven, but may be worth the risk)
Bryz (inconsistent but gets the wins anyway, didn't really hurt me last season)
Lu (too much uncertainty at the moment, 50/50 with Schneider? Tor? What's worse?)
Lehtonen (injury prone as we all know and Nihlstorp has been looking good)
Kipper (old, contract expires after upcoming season)

I agree with Price/Rask. I like Rask but still on the fence because he's still somewhat unproven and seems to be a bit injury prone. Boston is also a better team than Montreal but might have to take a gamble to get out of the goalie pit I've been in.

1. Price
2. Rask
3. Ward
4. Luongo
5. Bryzgalov
6. Lehtonen
7. Kiprusoff
