My Luongo vs. Bryzgalov

Wins/SO's only.

Got an offer this morning. :)

MY Luongo and M Richards

For

HIS Bryzgalov and Weiss

Richards was basically my last UTIL Player/injury insurance. I'm not overly converned about that part. It's the goalies cats I wanted to focus on.

Which side do you prefer? Is Bryzgalov and upgrade over Luongo?

Thanks!

I think its best to wait to find out how things go with Luongo and where he ends up playing first.

Where ever Luongo ends up I'd rather have him than Bryzgalov, period.

Agreed. I only indicate to maybe wait to see if he stays in Vancouver and shares time with Schneider for this short season, could hurt.

Bryzgalov - on a better team and put up 33 wins and 6 shutouts in an arguably average season last year.

Luongo - either splits time in Vancouver or (likely) starts in Toronto.

Give me the guy on a better team.

Bryz for me, he's going to default a ton of wins just from having a great offence and no backup threat.

Bryz for a couple reasons 1) After Philly upgraded their defense, he played more like what people expected and even better in the playoffs. He as actually hot. Also, this will be his second season and he should be more comfortable in Philly. 2) Luongo may experience a similar situation to what Bryz did with his first year in Philly if he's moved. If he's not moved, his playing time won't justify this thread.

If you can wait, wait. If you must choose now, Bryz is it.

Agreed. I echo many of the pro Bryz comments above.

I feel like Luongo is a much better goalie, but I think Bryzgalov is in one of the best situations.

If Luongo stays in Vancouver and splits starts it's obviously going to eat into his wins in a big way, if he gets traded it's going to be to a weaker team, and while he'll still be a better goalie than Bryzgalov he's still probably going to put up less wins.

Bryzgalov is a great option in a league that only counts wins and shutouts, because he is the undisputed number one goalie on his team, and his team is very good and with have a great win/loss record, on top of that he doesn't have a back up that will play much or threaten to steal games.

While I like Bryzgalov in your format better than Luongo, I would hate to give up Mike Richards, that said it's still probably best to pull the trigger, unless you have the option to see where Luongo goes.
