Alan Ashby leaving Jays radio

Ashby is off to do play-by-play on TV for the Astros. I liked him. Good voice, honest sounding. Very analytical, clear and concise. Tough to see him go. In a way I almost feel betrayed - the Jays were just getting rolling. But he's gotta move his career forward, and the next step is TV. Too bad he couldn't get something for TV, permanent, in Toronto.

Any ideas on who replaces him?

not too sure Astros TV is a step up; I think I'd have stuck around another year and had alot more fun calling a winner. I'd like to have a buck for every time he uses the words rebuilding and future this year in Houston

Gotta be the $$$$$ then. Weird that Rogers would be cheap with him though

Probably Mike Wilneer....which sucks because I hate him.

Ashby played his career for the Astros though right? That probably has something to do with it.

Fair enough but I meant the majority of his career.

Ashby's home residence is in Houston so he's a lot closer to his family now. Makes sense.

Good for him, now please don't take away Buck Martinez!

Mike Wilner is a goddamn plug and I can't believe he has the position that he has. Such a homer, and that's coming from a big Jays fan.
