Gerbe spinal surgery over summer
From rotoworld (Source: WIVB.com): "Nathan Gerbe revealed that he had spinal surgery over the summer. Gerbe was only able to resume skating in December. "It's been a good time for me to get healthy," said Gerbe. "I had spine surgery in the summer... I'm just starting to catch my groove and get strong again, and hopefully I can get back at some point this season." It's not known if he would be healthy in time for a theoretical Jan. 19 start to the 2013 campaign."
Spinal surgery - that sucks. Not to make light of this, but I wonder if it was the same procedure that Ethan Hawke's character had in Gattaca to lengthen his legs... |
Did not know about that. Consider him fully crossed off my list.

I've got him too. Guess I should explore trade options - there still may be a market to trade to someone who is rebuilding.

Anyone know if he's still on the payroll? Maybe this was just a "timely" injury, or a perfect time to do repairs, before the cba expired.
|
He's making his case stronger and stronger to be my free drop.

Per rotoworld today:
Nathan Gerbe will be activated by the Sabres after recovering from his back injury and he will make his season debut on Thursday. He will play alongside Mikhail Grigorenko and Steve Ott against Carolina. Gerbe had six goals and 25 points in 62 games last season. Source: Buffalo News |
Welcome back Gerbe, already on the receiving end of a boarding penalty.
