drop Cervenka, add JT Miller?

Not league in sig but same format...

I actually dropped Miller to add John Gibson before the WJCs. Glad I made that move but Miller's performance has me wanting to add him again.

Cervenka is about the only guy I'd drop from my farm to re-add JT Miller - should I do it or hang on to see what Cervenka beings?

I would wait and see what Cervenka brings first. It would be surprising if you would end up picking up a prospect significantly worse than Miller even if Cervenka busts. If you could give us a few more names of available players we could more accurately assess that though.

Yeah, I don't think you want to over-react to what's happening in this tournament too much. Miller hasn't even been that good for the US. You definitely want to give Cervenka a shot to see if he can produce for you right away before you give up on him. Miller won't be productive in the NHL for at least a year so I think you'd be only serving to delay yourself by making the swap.

Well, right now we have 25 prospects per team , so roughly the top 250 prospects are spoken for, which makes it a bit difficult to list available prospects. JT Miller is probably top of the heap for available guys. I've also been considering Dmitrij Jaskin based on his recent performance.

Might make more sense to show you my existing farm team to see if there is anyone else you feel is worth dropping for Miller.

I am pretty happy with this farm squad but I worry about a lack of grit, which Miller would help with.

Armia, Joel F - BUF
Cervenka, Roman F - CGY
Conacher, Cory F - TB

Silfverberg, Jakob F - OTT
Tarasenko, Vladimir F - STL
Teravainen, Teuvo F - CHI
Beaulieu, Nathan D - MON
Clendening, Adam D - CHI
Elliott, Stefan D - COL

You have a strong farm. Keep Cervenka. He's vitually a lock for a top 6 spot in Cgy. You don't let a guy who has his oppurtunity go for a prospect. I would, however, drop Gillies for JT Miller. For starters, you have some prospect goalies who are horses. Gillies is so far away that it makes no sense rostering him over Miller or along side of your other goalies.

Regardless of who the other goalies are, I think there are tons of better options than Gillies due to the wait time. Goaltending can be helped/fixed by other means.

Oh, I don't doubt that. ;)

Thanks guys, I did the Gillies drop and picked up Miller again.

Our farm teams expand by five players each this summer so I can more than likely grab Gillies back at that point if it still seems like a good idea.

Do you guys plan on ever having a limit for the farms? My league kept adding and adding and at one point we had to say "hold it". At first it was just five guys. Now we're up to ... well, lots. We draft up to 28 farm slots in the summer, then at christmas we cut down to 25, then the cycle repeats next summer and christmas.

I'm in three keepers with farm systems.

The one in my sig started with 20 farmers per team back in 2003. A few years back, we expanded by doubling farm size to 40. Since then we have bumped it twice by five players each time, with the last time being agreed as our final expansion, so it will remain permanently at 50 farmers per team.

The second is a newer keeper (ten team roto as well) that started before last season. We drafted 20 farmers each in our inaugural draft (a combined vet/farmer draft which was pretty interesting), and we have a plan set out to increase farm team size by 5 players per year to a max of 50 farmers per team.

The third is a brand new league - we just had our inaugural draft last summer. This one is a 20 team H2H, with a farm size of ten players per team. We are going to expand this to 12 players before next summer's prospect draft, but that will be it.

The first two leagues have very generous farm GP limits (246 F, 328 D and 200 G) while the third has an 82 GP limit for all positions (so the smaller farm size won't be that restrictive, considering there will be a lot more turnover with the lower GP limit).

Anyway, that's probably more than you asked for lol.
