Sven Bartschi out with a concussion/neck issue

Bartschi's been out a few weeks and apparently it's concussion or neck related injury.

Quote:

Worse yet for the Flames and their fans was the whispers the 2011 first-round draft choice suffered a concussion.

“I don’t know if we can say (it’s a concussion). Most of the issue has proven to be with his neck,” said John Weisbrod, the Flames assistant GM of player personnel.

“He had some symptoms the night of the game that would be consistent with getting hit, but it would be over-stating it that he had a concussion.

“He got hit, so he was a little rattled. At the time, he was behaving like a guy that got his bell rung. But when we saw him the next morning and had the group of doctors in, it seems to be more a neck, whiplash-type of issue.

“He has some soreness on the base of his neck.”

Tough break.

Every since Crosby's concussion turned out to be a neck issue, that has become the catch phrase. It's move from "concussion-like symptoms" to a "concussion/neck issue".

Cracks me up.

Neck -> spinal cord -> brain functions.

It's all the same thing in the end.

^ Totally agree. Let's hope he makes a full recovery. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Went to the heat game last night. They were horrible without him. shots were 26-4 for the stars after 2 periods.

Yes, end result is the same. Just commenting on how the "catch" phrases change and become the latest terminology used by the teams.

I got home late last night from a buddys house and the game was on TV. I caught the last bit of the first period. I shut the TV off after that. Did Matt Fraser come back into the game at some point? That was a rocket of a shot he scored on.

I was wondering why I didnt see Baertschi on the ice. As I say, I only watched a little bit of the first period.
