Kyle Lowry Trade

Can someone tell me the exact details of the 1st Rounder? I know its somewhat protected - How so & How many years.

And could I get a link confirmation of this.

I really like Lowry but was concerned from the outset about his fragility vs how good this pick actually could be.

This is the best I have found:

Top three protected in 2013.
Top two protected in 2014-15
Top one protected in 2016-17.
Unprotected 2018.

There are also stipulations that should the Raptors make the playoffs the pick gets deferred to the next season. This could come into play in future seasons if the pick gets deferred because of the above reasons. This lottery stipulation is in place until 2018, the same year the pick becomes unprotected.

So the Thunder would get the Raptors pick in the following scenarios:

2013 - 4-14
2014-15 - 3-14
2016-17 - 2-14
2018 - 1-30

So Raptors better start winning more game if they want to have Wiggins in 2014 :D

No, Wiggins looks like he'll be a top two selection in 2014, which would fall within the protection range for the Raptors if they finish that low. I suspect the Thunder get the Raptors' pick this summer as odds are against the Raptors landing a top three selection this summer and they certainly won't make the playoffs.

And for what it's worth, this summer's draft class doesn't look very good. I'd sooner have Lowry than say the fifth pick in this year's draft.

Yeah this so true.

Thanks for the detailed info above also.
