Trade for Doughty, help required

Hey there, i would appreciate any kind of input for the following offers.
I need to state that i own 4 first round picks for the 2013 entry draft

1 - Jonas Gustavsson and a probable Top 5 pick for Doughty
2 - Gus + Top 5 Pick + Stewart for Doughty and Fasth
3 - Gus + Top 5 Pick + 2014 First Round Pick for Doughty and Fasth
4 - Gus + Top 5 Pick + 2014 First + Stewart for Dougthy Fasth and Sateri
5 - No Trade

Team in Signature. I know i am weak in goal at the moment, but I have some
hope for next season for either Markstrom or Ramo to get some Starts.

I am in the middle of a rebuild - almost finished - worried about my Goalie
situation, but i think the future in net looks pretty good with having Markstrom,
Campbell and Ramo in my minors.

Thx for your thoughts on this

First of all, your goaltending is not too bad with Smith. As long as he stays in PHX, you'll be okay.

Second, where do you figure that top 5 pick will land. If it will be top 2, then I likely wouldn't do the deal. If it isn't, I likely would do it.

If there is a season no way that this is going to be a top 2 pick, if there is no season we are going to have a draft lottery... so maybe, maybe not

In that case I'd do it. #2 if you can. If not #1.

I'd take my chances.

Like AR said, it'd be nice to know where that top 5 pick sits exactly and what kind of players are available in this draft. As a Doughty owner myself, I only found #3 and #4 somewhat worth entriguing. Personally, I'd be asking for one of Getz , Staal or Granlund as a bare minimum coming back my way. Doughty carries quite a lot of weight here.

this draft will be pretty much about the real 2013 draft class

to be clear, iīd get Dougthy in those deals.

If you think there is a season not a top 2 selection - i am pretty sure i would have a top 2 pick within those 4 first rounders i own if there was a season

If you donīt think there is a season - Lottery - anything can happen

I'm still unsure as to which players would be available in your draft. Assuming that Yaks, Gally, Grig, Granlund etc were already picked in previous draft.

As a DD owner, I wouldn't be interested in any of those offers, especially with some uncertainty as per where the pick would fall.

I'm with you here. I hate making assumptions with picks. I always assume worst case when doing this.

I'd take Doughty and give Gus + Top 5 Pick.

Detroit is not exactly going to be a powerhouse NHL team going-forward, IMO.... and who knows what Gustavsson's future will be like.
You probably lose this trade if that pick is #1.
If the pick is #2... it might be close to even.
If the pick is #3/#4/#5, you probably win this trade.

I'd go with the percentages... and make the deal.

I would do any of these deals, and even be willing to add more, to acquire Doughty. MacKinnon might make me think twice, but still...Doughty is Doughty, only 23 and the best is yet to come IMO.
