Tavares or Seguin?

Who would you rather have in a keeper league that includes peripherals (PIMs, hits, etc.)? I'm interested in production 2 years from now. Differences next year are not important to me. Are these guys close? League categories in sig.

They are both very talented. They will both be ppg players. Tavares is ahead in development, imo. I can see both putting up 90pts or more as well as having seasons where they flirt with 100, hit 100 or possibly eclipse 100pts. Between the two, I like Tavares a little more, though. I think his game has more sandpaper, so he should be able to outproduce the speedy Seguin there. I would gi Tavares, especially if FOW is a cat.

Tavares for me too. One87 sums it up nicely.

This

Both will be perennial all-stars but Tavares has a better chance of a Hart or two.

Tavares for me too. He's pretty amazing surrounded by Marginal Talent...and only getting better as the Isle's prospects start to graduate to the big club. Say what you want about Moulson's emergence...I'd argue that Tavares has had a direct impact on Moulson's ability to score at the pace that he has.

Plus, I'd put Tavares slightly ahead of Seguin based on the cats your league utilizes. This may change as Seguin matures, but I think Tavares is just "That" much better a player all around than Seguin and definitely J.T. is HART worthy!

But interesting comparison nonetheless!

At this point in time, I'd have to take Tavares. He's further along in the development and will be the man in NY for the foreseeable future.

Stat Categories: G(1), A(1), +/- (.5), PIM (.25), SHG (2), SHA (1), GWG (2), Hits and blocks (.1), W(2), GA (-.2), SV (.05), SO (5)
C(x3), L(x3), R(x3), D(x6), Utility(1), G(x3), Bench(x6)

Firstly, can you specify in your sig what type of league this is? Points or H2H Points? It may not make as much difference in comparing both but it's important to know this for future enquiries.

As for Tavares vs Seguin - looking at their numbers to date both are relatively weak in the peripherals (except Seguin likely to continue with higher +/- due to team strength), so I would focus on the offense side of things. Tavares is ahead and is still maturing, which could lead to a 90-100 point season very soon. Seguin is maturing as well but not sure he'll surpass Tavares' offensive production anytime soon.

I would choose Tavares

I think Tavares can be top player in NHL or close within 2-4 years. He had points in 39.9% of his team production ( 81 out of total of 203). Pretty amazing

He doesnt have a huge offensive team around him and he still make things happening.

Its not that Seguin is not good because this guy is amazing to. He can/should be top 10-15 in NHL really soon but I dont think he has the huge Superstar status that Tavares will have.

But again its only my opinion...

Have a good day.

tavares for me too.
