Fitzgerald for playoffs this week or not...
What to do what to do.
As it stands right now, my starting WR corps consist of : Larry Fitzgerald (vs Seattle) James Jones (vs Det) Hakeen Nicks (vs NO) Jones and Nicks I am not too worried about. Do I leave Fitzgerald in or not. On my bench I have Mario Manningham (vs Miami) and Golden Tate (vs Arizona). I am so tempted to put Tate in over Fitzgerald but I am normally a guy who leaves his key players in and hope for the best. With this being playoffs, I am now second guessing my normal strategy. Any thoughts out there on this? |
This is a tough one as I usually use the same philosophy as you - play your guns no matter what. Nothing hurts more than benching a "go-to" guy to see him put up 20+. In this situation though you may want to look at it as not so much benching a go-to guy as benching the guy getting him the ball. Lindley simply could not find Fitz (or any other receiver for that matter) last week vs the JETS....it certainly worries me when he plays against a secondary like the Seahawks.
IMO Tate is your guy here. He has been putting up numbers and Russell seems to be heating up as well. Best of luck! |
Wait to see who is starting for ARI. If it's Skelton or Kolb, start Fitz. Otherwise, start Tate.
Lindley is not ready for NFL duty yet. He's not capable of progressing through his reads fast enough, he doesn't make hot reads on blitzes, his pre-snap recognition is poor, and his accuracy right now is abysmal. Skelton won't win many games, but at least he's not incompetent and can get Fitz the ball. |

Because the pressure that Seattle can pt on ther other teams QB's I would stay away Fitz this week. He may not see the ball as his QB will be running for his life. I would take Tate over Manny.
