Rays acquire Yunel Escobar from Miami
 

Miami receives prospect Derek Dietrich.

That didnt take long.

Nice, all we have to do is read his eyeshadow carefully and get him suspended over and over again and the Rays are without a shortstop.

I always thought the Rays were okay in the infield with Longoria-Rodriguez-Zobrist.

I'd heard rumours about this recently. Not surprised. Good fit for the penny pinchers in Tampa.

From what I read, Miami asked Escobar to play third base and at first he agreed. Then after leaving the meeting, he went home and called the brass back and said he wanted to play SS so they started shopping him. There were a couple teams interested in him but I guess this was the best return for him.

The last I heard was that NYY was considering him as a stop gap for the loss of A-Rod for the first half of the 2013 season.

Tampa gets a troubled SS/3b who will likely implode...Yanks still without a viable option at 3b...

I LOVE the way the AL East is shaping up for my Jays this up coming season!

Now go land another pitcher AA...Let's stop the rest of competition out!

All I want for Christmas is one more starter for the Jays rotation.

p.s. Yunel is one of the most overrated shortstops in baseball. I could forgive that if he was a good teammate and positive influence in the dugout. But, he's not. Can't wait for spring training!!!

I hope the Jays get another starter, as long as it isnt Dickey. Man all I have been reading for days is JPA+ for Dickey. Dear god I hope this doesnt happen. Someone is going to over pay for a 38 yr old knuckleballer with one good season under his belt. I just hope it isnt the Jays.
